My husband is short (just a little above 5ft1), so what? He's a normal person! And has always been popular among ladies because he is a charming man. And I wouldn't trade him for a taller guy, though (like many women) in the past I had never thought I could be attracted by a short man! If the man has all you are looking for (I mean genuine qualities that matter to you), then his size is should just be a detail.
I also know a couple of other short guys, often smaller than their wife, and they're happy thank you.
I think size (just like weight, skin colour or whichever "criterion") should not matter...

You are average male height. I am 5'2 1/2. Men that height stand no chance. Prove me wrong: any evidence to the contrary? Any?....
Dude, you're pretty much right -- at that height, mating probably isn't in the cards for you. I know a dude that's 5'6" who can't get any attention from the ladies. You are absolutely 100% correct on this one. Short men are at an extreme disadvantage when it comes to mating.

I think short is better... only because I don't like to be at eye-level with a person's kneecaps

My height is 1,72m (5' 8'' ??) which is really short.
From my experience I can tell that women in fact do get their first impressions from the body height/shape of a man.
It's obvious, because how are women supposed to judge your character when they see you for the first time?

Now, I can guarantee that I will have people attacking me personally, but not the content of this post (making themselves look immature in the process) while others will INSIST that that is not the case (despite not showing any scientific evidence to the contrary)

If someone could show me some ACTUAL EVIDENCE to prove me wrong, as in scientific evidence or a study that goes against the studies I have posted, I will listen. Instead, I will get people denying the evidence and attacking myself in a childish manner.

Face it: short men have a better chance of winning the lottery then they do of finding a mate. Either prove me wrong using evidence, or fall silent.
You sound desperate. Plenty of very, very short women out there who are vibrant and beautiful, an may prefer a short man. Hell, I've known a couple woman who were at least 5'9 say they prefer a shorter man. Go find one of them and quit feeling inadequate because of your height. Lack of self-confidence is not an attractive trait in a man to any woman.
