"Do You Have Any Single Friends??" (women, friend, conversation)

I get asked this a LOT by women who are either shopping for themselves or shopping for a hard-luck friend...

I'd never thought about it before, but I guess I had too much time with the radio off during the morning commute, but started thinking.

Does this imply that they consider me desireable/datable, etc... (aside from my marital status of course) ??? As if to say that, "Well YOU aren't available, but your friends would probably be similar to you, so......".....

OR, is it just one of those conversation things that single women say when they're poking fun at themselves for being single....

I'm not looking to claim I'm "All That", or anything, or even looking for a morale boost really..... Like I said, just had too much time to think and came up with this question.....

Yeah, I'd say it's flattering. I certainly wouldn't ask a jerk if he has a friend to offer to me... Well, I wouldn't ask anybody, but that's beside the point.
