That thread about being called the wrong name got me to thinking... I cannot remember the last time I called my husband by his real name. I guess I have at some point, but I cannot remember ever doing it. Seems like every long term relationship I have had, we get into this thing where we call each other by silly pet names. They are almost too silly and embarrassing to repeat (Stuff like Honey Bunny, Snuggle Bunny, or Honee' trying to be French sounding etc...) probably makes a sane person gag.

Funny topic. I usually refer to my bf as 'hun' 'babe' or there's a special name that I call him (part of his first name but said in a cute way)! I've never referred to him with his full first name- unless I'm yelling at him about something.

It's funny that you mention that, a while ago my best friend of 4 years called me by my real name and it took me by complete surprise. I realized he had never called me that before, and vice versa. I usually refer to him as "dork" and he refers to me as "punk".

Haha, yeah I end up using the middle name too.

I really use it in crowded situation like parties, where saying a pet name won't get his attention.

Half the time I used her name, Melissa; called her Mel a lot, and Honey.
