Find some active friends.

Habitual pot smoking makes people introverted. For the most part, men can be perfectly happy with this vegetative state for years at a time. Women HATE IT, especially the hot ones.

More importantly, though, it really isn't about what women think. If you call these guys "Slobs and stoners", then you obviously recognize the problem between you and them.

It sounds like you've outgrown your friends. Everyone does, at some point. Go out and do the things you want to do, and meet new people while you're doing it. You don't have to completely cut the old friends out of your life, but they don't have to bring you down with them.

I was getting ready to say the exact same thing, but you beat me to it. Maybe you could go out and do things with the idea of meeting new friends based on your interests, as well as meeting women, and if they're shallow enough to be judgmental about how many friends you have, do you really want to date them anyway? Are all of your old friends like this, or are there one or two who aren't quite in the old crowd and who would be more open to trying something new?

Sounds just like my friends! I have been doing some more things on my own now and branching out. My friends from high school are still my friends from high school mostly and do not like doing new things or going out. After college I am use to going out on weekends. I like bars, and really miss not having a large social bar group to go out with.

^^Yea, this is pretty much the norm for generation X, and Rx these days.

In regards to weed, which ties into your post, is that smoking weed only helps perpetuate their situation. Weed tends to make people lazy, and slothful which is why I don't advocate young people to start smoking it.

I'm a real believer a guy should leave his Home Town and create a new life somewhere. A lot of bad influences in many cases keep you in a rut. I go back to my old area 30 years later and the same old people are hanging out at the same old places.

Every few years we all need a major shake up in life. Grow, explore & experience a new life.

A lot of my friends were below me in a lot of way and yes they did bring me down. Don't be too attached to people is what I say.
