I have a friend who met a girl a week ago, they had sex after their first date, and she's already spent the nite twice at his house. Am I just old fashioned for thinking this is really not a good thing? They've only known each other for a wk and are already hooking up. What do you guys really think about a woman who will have sex with you after only one date? Do you think it's fine and you would persue a relationship? I'm starting to feel really out of it because I see this a lot but I just don't agree with it. I'm not saying one has to wait for marriage, but sex with someone I just met is not an option for me. What do you all think?
I'm not big on immediate sex either, although I can definitely understand if the chemistry is sparking everywhere and it just comes naturally.
However, I think when someone has sex so quickly and easily, it makes the other person (and vice versa) wonder if they always have sex so soon and with a bunch of other people.
I like to wait a little... let the anticipation grow.

You are not old-fashioned - your friend is taking great risks, physically and emotionally. It's a foolish path to follow.
If both parties are aware of what's up, I see no problem. One date, five dates, no big difference. People are still putting their "best foot forward" at that point, so you actually have no real idea of who you are with anyhow. Sex can be a deal breaker, or a deal maker. Just be safe.
I'm a young man myself and I wouldn't dare on the first date. If you barely know the person's last name, the last thing you should do is jump into bed. If people make that a habit, they better become accustomed to burning sensations. And that's not a religious thing, that was a pee joke. Just to clarify.

Good point, which is why I posted to "be careful"--but if they have something, they will have it after a few dates also. It won't just go away.
you could be right but not getting AIDS is also old fashioned.
Herpes is so hot right now.
