I was wondering in your opinion who would get emotionally impacted the most when a relationship ends badly and you really loved that person at some point in your life. Is it the woman or the man?

Quite lately, there have been many stories about cheating, abuse, spousal neglect, unrequited love (where feelings aren't returned) and many more into it on many different forums.
So who is hurt more? A woman who either just got dumped or had to break up as a result of the man being a scumbag who treated her like dirt (the typical woman with the jerk story)......... or
A good man who did nothing to deserve terrible treatment from a nasty woman (good man with cold-hearted woman).

.
Based on your examples, I would say both would get hurt equally....? It's not like either gender is less likely to get hurt by someone who wrongs them. At least I don't think so.

I didn't vote. Common sense tell me it would happen equally. My experiences, OTOH, don't account for that. I've noticed men being more hurt, with greater emotional consequences. To be clear, I'm not generalizing.

I think it depends more on internal things and not the gender. In other words, a person with a big heart, in combination with little life experience may not be able to handle a broken heart as well as somebody else who has less empathy in edition to greater harsh life experience.

Yea, I agree. I was going to include this in my post because there are big hearted people in BOTH genders so it probably evens out.

The one being deceived.

However, the person doing the deceiving often gets burned as well.
