"Let bygones be bygones".

This was a great lesson on forgiveness, and realizing that life was too short to hold grudges.

I would love to hear her voice say that again, but Mama died in January 2001 while a resident at Baptist Village Nursing Home...she was 71, and weighed 71 pounds. Sure miss her.

No one who has lost their mother ever really gets over the loss. I mean, we are born from them, they carry us for 9 mths, raise us.. Sorry for your loss. Lost mine at 14 and never really stopped missing her. I'm a Mom now and really love my kids more than life.

I completely understand how you feel!

My favorite aunt, who was more like a mother to me than my own, used to say this:

"Everyone has their own sack of rocks to carry in this life."

Such words of wisdom!

She died suddenly, at the age of sixty-five, in November of 2001.

Yes, it is hard to lose your parents..My Daddy died at the age of 40 in 1966 (I was 14). I was 49 when Mama died. I wrote a story about her.

I'm a 65 year old male and my Mother died when I was 23 and to this day I still miss her...

Sometimes late at night I can see Her standing in the hallway... I've asked my wife if I am crazy and says no that I'm not...

I have seen a few posters on this forum who would do well to adopt this approach.

As my parents get older I think more and more of how I'd manage without them, and it scares me.

Love them while they are here and prepare yourself for life without a safety net.
