There are exceptions to every rule and it may be an old adage.....but in most cases I think you can tell alot.
Not really. Most people KNOW that you judge them that way, so they put an extra effort into having the "right" kind of hand shake. It's like some kind of test these days. Even for females. Gotta have the strong handshake with eye contact, smile and say the person's name.

It's so over done that it doesn't mean much, IMHO. I could be wrong. But I think most handshakes are overly phony in their strength and "sincerity" these days. LOL

Ditto!
A person can learn to do anything to present.
It's down to a science and no longer a secret.

Exactly ... which why people who don't have good handshakes are repellent. It's like slouching or walking around with food on your face. How hard is it to learn how to present yourself?

It's easy for me - I just jump in front of the person, slide on my knees, spread my arms wide and yell "TA-DAAAAA!!!"

Can be true in some cases. But can also show the person Isn't lazy and is prepared to make an effort.

I prefer the top-hat, song-and-dance routine, a la the frog from the Bugs Bunny cartoons.
