there is no norm i am afraid. i found that out myself. we met in may and were married in january---have been together for 15 years--and i was almost 19 when we met. i tried to use the excuse that it is "not normal" to do things so quickly, but he asked who made up these rules?
Dated for about 1 year until we moved in together, proposal followed 6 months later. We got married 16 months after the proposal.
All together 3 years.
I assume that you mean.... "How many years did you date your current spouse before you got married to him/her".
Four years. We've been married 10 and together 14.
