I started dating this guy recently and really hit it off, the other night we were driving together in my car to his place, he asked me if i wanted to apply u.s citizenship i said no, because i will lose my original nationality by doing that. i also said i don't want to be an american. he started saying then why you are not going back to your own country. i thought it's kinda offensive but just lightly joked it off. after a while, out of nothing, he said " u.s don't need you, just get out"
i thought that's really offensive so i shutted up and stopped talking to him. he said im being stupid because he's joking.
he asked me few times why i play silence, i still ignore him. then he's pissed and told me after he's off the car, im on my own. it was 2am in the morning and i dropped him off and drove back to my place which is 2 hours away.
was i being drama queen? did i overeact? i thought i was a mellow person.

when i dropped him off i also throw out the box of beverage he bought for me. i kept thinking it may have hurt his feelings by doing that. geez, im too nice.
Anytime! You see, I'm a little biased because I'm foreign-born myself, but I'd have the same opinion even if it weren't for that...
i know, what makes u.s a great country is its tolerance of diversity. the constitution law doesn't say you have to kiss u.s ass to be living in this country. what's wrong with me not wanting to be an american?
While what he said was offensive, I don't think he said it with the intention to hurt you or be a jerk.
However, his response after that (calling you stupid and etc.) was a complete jerk move.
