Most of my friends are still christian and the only reason they still go to church is because they fear hell , not "god" , not because they want to feel jesus's love. It's sad and would say that the majority of christians still believe because they fear hell and would like that good ole "fire insurance". Would you consider those people to still be "christ-like" just because they think there "might" be a hell.
Personally I think hell is a santa-like myth. Be good and you will get rewarded(toys/heaven) , be bad and you will be punished(coal and switches/hell).
Great way to tame the children/the masses , dont you think?

I like the way you think! However, you and I both live in the "by-bull" belt. So just place that bible in the rear panel of your Cadillac, meet and greet people with the phrase "God bless", and make sure you tell folks that you go to "Chuuuurtch".

I personally don't think there is a hell. The closest thing I've gotten to hell is Oklahoma's August heat.
This is a pretty pointless argument against religion and belief in general, since some religions aren't obsessed with "BELIEVE THE TRUTH OR BURN FOR ETERNITY," some don't even believe it, and others may emphasize it, but not because they want to control people.
Really, the whole "Religion is just control of the masses" argument is old and getting tiring.
Well aparently christianity is alot different here , because the church pushes other idealogies and if you dont agree with it then you dont agree with god and you will burn in hell.
O and lets not forget , you better go rape people's ears with crazy jesus stories if you know they dont believe or they will die and go to hell and the blood will be on your hands.

Yes, it's old, but has been very effective for centuries.
