Smile You have a friend in PA ...

I would seriously like to meet everyone on the forum (and I mean everyone). Even if I disagree with someone's strongly held opinions, and all things considered, I think we get along marvelously. And we can do it right here in Johnstown during the annual Johnstown FolkFest over Labor Day weekend. That way, there's something to distract us and plenty of bystanders when we get all riled up and ready to kick some butt!

The FolkFest is three days of activities and concerts of all types of music from groups across the country. (MG and Plad can bring their guitars!) They have three groups playing simultaneoulsy at three different venues in Festival Park that's right along our three rivers (kinda like Pittsburgh's 3 rivers, but on a smaller scale). Plus there's food -- lots and lots of food, so no one has to cook!! And there's tons of ethnic variety. You'd learn some local history. Oh, and did I mention the church tours, too? Don't worry, they're not for conversions -- non-believers would enjoy it for their architecture. It would be a good time for all.

But, it's only a dream... who would come to Johnstown voluntarily? I'm here because I was born here Still, would like to meet as many as possible from the forum. It's been a unique learning experience (to say the least )for me.

If you fly into Pittsburgh International - about 2 hr drive (70/75 mi). Or you could hop the commuter "puddle skipper" from PGH to Johnstown's airport.

If you fly into Baltimore or Philadelphia - about 3½ - 4 hr drive from either.

I don't post much, but Nashville is a great place for people to meet and seeing there are several people from this area on here there should be lots of extra rooms for people to sleep in. My door is always open. I would love to meet several people, notably Irishmom. I WILL meet you when you arrive Montana Guy. I swear my sister is not too young for you

Well, if we can't all meet in one central location, how about we meet in 6 regional areas: northwest, southwest, north central, south central, northeast and finally southeast. Then we all gather together and have the largest 6 way telephone call/photo shoot. Someone out there has to have a cell with a camera.

How would we get along with one another? Often times many things disappear when people are standing face to face.
