Interesting article. One thing this article proves is that, "religion is man made". Different interpretations lead to different religions and even different denominations within a religion.
Personally, I feel this person in the article took it very far and border line got obsessed with his "findings" or "interpretations"; many of his opinions and conclusions do make sense. I especially agree with his views early on in the article about rituals, dogmas, etc. To me that is what it is, symbolic meaning, traditional routines, etc. Today, I myself do not put much weight on rituals and dogmas as I feel ones actions and actual demonstration of love, generosity, compassion, and understanding is much much more important than religious rituals.
As it is written in James 2:18 "Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do"
I saw many parallels in the story, similar to what lead me to Islam. Quite interesting. but, it does seem that some of us do leave Christianity because we did want to do as Jesus(as) would do.
I would like to say they're called Muslim. but I can't because you are correct.
Since Christians believe Jesus(as) taught his followers to pray as Jews, I would assume they should believe he taught Judaism. (the Lord's Prayer does come from Judaism)
If a person believes everything said in the bible, the only way they could do as Jesus(as) did, is to accept Judaism.
You really are good. Yes, the conclusion is that to follow Jesus (in or out of the Bible) one would have to either stop at Judaism or move onto Islam as a further revelation. Christianity is a detour through Hellenic paganism via Paul's gentile - friendly adaptation of messianic Judaism.
While it doesn't make much difference to me, I can imagine that some people having doubts might well opt for either of the two 'Book' religions.
Jesus was Jewish and had no intention of forming a completely new religion.
...A little technicality that, apparently, an awful lot of people either A) aren't aware of, B) don't like to hear, or C) deny altogether.
Unless you choose option D) all of the above.
