That's true, GCSTroop. They were called "indulgences". But I know so many churches do such good work that I'd rather just give and take the chance. There are charities who bilk money as well, but I wouldn't stop giving there, either. I give out of love and I don't worry about things like that. Of course I wouldn't be so generous if I had knowledge of wrongdoing in any particular church or organization.

This is the only place where God said to test Him and I have done that. I have tested Him in this and He was faithful to His promise. I have had more blessing than I can count since I started tithing. 10% is all he asked for. Since I belong to a church that is where I tithe.

Hmmm. I like this.

(The most rewarding giving I've done, was when I gave till it hurt, or I was afraid because I was sure I couldn't afford it.)
