I found a great book out there called the Atheist's Bible. The entire contents are quotes, mostly atheists or agnostics but also from critics of organized religion. The book, edited by Joan Konner (former Dean of the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism), contains quotes covering everyone from Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris to Gypsy Rose Lee, Homer Simpson and Woody Allen. For any Atheist or anyone questioning their own faith, this is a great book to keep handy. Don’t let the title of this one scare you off, The Atheist bible is humorous, inspiring and just plain insightful.

I'm not familiar with that particular book but I also have a few books that are first rate books from the perspective of an atheist. "Why I Am Not A Christian" by Bertrand Russell is a classic and a very inspired and insightful book. Of course The God Delusion is one I've read and we recently had a discussion on that book on one of our threads. It was also an excellent book. Thanks for the info on this book. I'll have to look into it.

I had to smile at Homer Simpson being included in there. I always thought he believed in 'Jebus' but was just too lazy to go to church.

You can sum up Homer's philosophy with just 1 word:

D'oh!!!!!

I prefer simple & yet effective philosophies like Homer's.
