Why'd God only save Jesus when he was a child? (believing, children)

But, why let the "wise men" know? If not for them, Herod wouldn't have known. If Herod wouldn't have known, a bunch of little boys would have still been alive. Jesus, still gets to do his mission.....just without the slaughter of the innocent.
Why didn't God just create the universe right the first time, so he wouldn't have to fine tune so many things later with one "plan" or another? I guess he must have made a lot of other mistakes in the original creation, too. Why don't you ever admit to any of those? How do you know which things God made that are still with us, that were mistakes and will have to be fixed, while you call them "God's Indisputable Wonders", and bet your life that you are right? Why does God have to create and breathe life into all those poor children, only to brutally murder them later on when he realizes all the stupid mistakes He made in his creation. Maybe God sent Adam Lanza to brutally murder His children for him, to cover up his screwups.
This is a serious question. I'd like an answer. If God was perfect, how come the original world he created isn't, and requires a continuing "plan"?
Or, after Adam and Eve, he could've hit the "RESET" button and tried again. But, then again, he wouldn't have gotten the fun of toying with us, his minions. Where's the fun, unless you can drown the entire world now and then and throw people in a lake of fire?

But the backdrop of the slaughter is so much more dramatic. And god was planning to write the coventry carol, which is both beautiful and tragic. If all those babies weren't slaughtered it would just be beautiful, and you can't have that, can you?

All tyrants have to use brutality to get their adherents to adhere....and i've come to understand that it's just the way a god's gotta do business. It's a little messy, but with psychopaths the ends always justify the means.

But, he always says he's gonna treat me right, and then when I slip up a little.....BAM! he knocks me down again. And he keeps saying it's my fault and that I keep bringing this on to me, myself. Maybe, it was me and that over revealing tunic I wore the other day. Why won't I learn that daddy knows best!
