Those folks , and NIKK is but one , there are thousands , that have those definitive views , and talking points , most come from the baptist crowd , and its off shoots. Their Philosophy comes from teachings handed down over hundreds of years , of their juniority , in the religion game..... witch of coarse comes from thousands of years of doctrine, going back to the day , man first discovered fire.......and , saidith of he who struck the first spark......" O' my God , look at that" !!.........and , it went on from there , until today , sometimes changed , sometimes not ,depending on the preacher......

Christians do believe in one God,the key factor is knowing His Son Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins for whosoever believeth in Him with a true repenting heart shall have eternal life in His Kingdom..

The God I know has to consist of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit that dwells within me.

It seems that people in the East are less selfish than the ones in the west. And this could be due to the fact that many of them believe in many Gods than just one. so the whole idea of their just being one God is ridiculous to them. unfortuanately through globalization things are becoming the same everywhere. Soon we will have one leader and who is to blame? The idea that one God can created everything by himself.
All the friends that I have in the East don't!!
They believe in God with the big G", and are spreading the gospel all over there; with wonderful Ministries esp. to the lepers,
This is not an East vs West God, He's Omnipresent!! Loves all of His creation.
Not just the Westerners; But Easterners alike
God Bless You

Proof: Prove it.

Mexi: The notion that there is one god implies that there is only one proper way to believe and behave and--this is the important part--the powerful people who promote(d) this notion always promote(d) the notion that THEY are God's representatives on Earth and the populace must obey them. This gives them the opportunity to commit all sorts of heinous acts against the populace and manipulate the populace into acting against their self-interest.

This hits the nail on the head. Even the spiritual traditions that have many god aspects....they are all aspects of a single divinity. Sort of like the archangels in many traditions that are intermediaries to God, other aspects of God that sometimes seem more approachable to humans as ways to interact with God.

We believe in the trinity which teaches that God is one, but there are three parts to him...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(The Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost are the same thing, just different names.)

The Catholics pray to Mary and the saints and they should not because they can not help them. The bible says "the dead know not anything". So, praying to a dead person is futile. Pray to God, he is the one that can hear your cry and save you.

Joseph Smith was just a man who died falling out of a window. Not a god.

Hubbard was just a man who wanted to make money by creating a religion. Not a god.

See that first line here.....major problem with that. How DARE you claim to have the truth when all you have is a 2000 year old book to go on. You want to believe it is your right, but to sit here and tell us your God and your religion is the only truth, well you are just kidding yourself.

This poster makes a good point, because people have existed for way more than 2000 years, and were just as sincere and kind and loving and holy and sacred....so there had to be a loving God that existed prior. Also there are people all over the world who are equally kind and good and loving and just because they worship differently, it seems to me they are just as devout and holy and devoted and sincere in how they live their lives.

Also it seems that there is just one God, but goes by many names, so is it really so bad that we may all be praying to the same loving God just by different names?
