Ok.. let me rephrase the question from my previous post:

I would ask:

"Guard, if I asked your counterpart which door leads to heaven, which one would he choose?"

Right...but if you asked the liar, he is going to tell you "his door" because that wouldn't be the door the other guard would say.

I don't think you thought my answer through Remember one lies and the other tells the truth.

Either way, the door chosen would be the door to hell, therefore I would choose the other door.

Well, wait a second, now the rational part of my brain kicks in. How do I know that one guard always lies and one guard always tells the truth? Is there a third party guiding me? Why don't I just ask the third party as many questions as I can to find out which guard is the liar and which one is the truth-teller? Then I can ask the truthful one to let me in
