From Genesis 17. Ugh, I hate seeing Bible quotes on threads but the argument is what God had said per the Bible so here goes.
1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty[a]; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. 2 Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” (underlining mine)
9 Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. 10 This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. (underlining mine)
12 For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. (My note: makes sense, since these would all be living together and potentially passing on and mingling their own blood, all for the future tribe of Israel specifically - kept apart from other tribes.)
13 ...My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. (underlining mine)
What did the Mohel say to the parents right before the performing the Bris ?
It won't be long now
LOL!!!!
So this family wants to honor and remember their son's bris. So they decide to take their son's foreskin to a tailor. "Make something special out of this," they say.
They come back in two weeks and the tailor presents them with the tiniest little square. "What is it?" the parents ask.
"It's a wallet," the tailor says.
"But it's so tiny," they complain.
"It is now," says the tailor, "but when you rub it, it turns into a suitcase."
Circumcision was never part of Christianity or a Christian thing. In fact Paul explicitly states how the uncircumcised gentiles can still be children of God regardless. In modern times it was for supposed 'health' reasons.

"Let me get this straight, the Arabs get the oil and I have cut off WHAT!!!!"
HAHA!
Yes, I always get a very different picture in my head of that portion of Genesis. God gives the command and Abraham squints up at Him and goes, "TheWhoWhatNow?"
It's definitely not part of Christianity. Brazil is mostly Catholic and we generally do not circumcise. One of my friends is Muslim and he's got a circumcised penis - I was so shocked when I saw it in the locker room. I'm intact.
I wonder just how much of a factor the circumcision requirement was in the triumph of Paul's gentile oriented Christianity over Timothy and James' completion of the Hebrew covenant version of Christianity. To convert to Paulism all you needed to endure was some water at your baptism. His rivals required you to convert to Judaism first and that meant getting your adult hose snipped.
