Every parable seems to be about 2 people (or groups). Or in the case of the Sower, about several different type of soil. The hard path being the least responsive, while the good soil produces the most fruit.
However, the old testament states somewhere that God will turn a heart of stone into a heart of flesh.
The parables often talk about one person living in the outer darkness, and the other living in the kingdom. But I think it may be referring to a person becoming "born again" spiritually.
There is also much in the Bible to indicate that this occurs with every person in the history of the world. Yes, I believe that everyone will be saved during their own lifetime. That is the message of Revelation. Your old creation can no longer plague you.
The afterlife has nothing to do with judgement or reward. Those two things occur in the living age. Spiritual death is a state of begin in sin. Eternal life is the state of overcoming that by choosing to love your neighbors.
