This is what I have heard before...and I find it to be true.
I believe (bec I have practiced and experienced this)...if I make an intention (so using
the power of my mind and thoughts)that I will have a safe and wonderful time driving to
and at an 'event'...I do.
If I make no intention, meaning I just flow and muddle along and go somewhere...any
darn thing could happen by default....someone spills red wine on me, pulls out in front of me
and the dip slids off the seat...
I believe Jesus, Krishna, many gurus and yogis, Law of Attraction authors have tried
to teach this...Don't worry, be happy...
believe and receive, focus on what you want, basically...believe.
This power in belief is simply tremendous and where it is 'at' for me over these
last 8 years.
Have you tried it? Even for a couple weeks to see how powerful it is?
It gives me control over my life...if something happens like I sprained my ankle on uneven
pavement hidden under leaves once, ouch!...I looked at my thoughts and intentions and I
was just bee bopping along and kaboom.
I had no mindful thoughts of safety...head in the clouds, wasn't paying any attention...
and down I went.

Yep. I don't think we really need to believe to experience benefits of personification of the universe though. I think merely envisioning it can provide us with a sense of control, rather than tumbling blindly through the void. Envisioning a paternal or maternal force can provide us with someone to keep track of our noble acts. Envisioning it can allow us to make promises to a maternal or paternal force that helps us keep those promises. I once made a promise to run faster to the false frog god, and it took thirty seconds off my mile time.
The Abrahamic religions denounce idol worship and worshipping false gods, and I think that's a shame because idol worship is the only form of religion I'm reasonably sure I like. Rider's Pantheon was right when he complained about the Bible depicting the worshipping of the golden calf as sinful. The worshipping of the golden calf could very well have been a good thing.
Your religion is okay too though. It's just more confusing. I have a tough time understanding how you think.

I don't understand what you're even saying here, Miss H. That if you don't pay attention to what you're doing you could injure yourself? How is this a revelation or even a religious or metaphysical topic? How is it other than simple cause or effect?
If you are asserting in your post that if you intend not to have accidents that you never have accidents, then you are not being honest with yourself, and therefore not with us. If you are simply saying that if you intend not to have accidents by bringing awareness to the need for mindfully cautious living, that you will have far fewer accidents, that is another matter -- but also not mysterious, baffling or shocking, either.

Yesterday a guy in a phone store tried to sell me a piece of thin adhesive glass to stick onto my wife's new smart phone to protect the screen. To justify the expenditure of $26 for a piece of glass (or maybe, really, acrylic) that probably cost about 25 cents for the raw materials and thus I am paying $25.75 for manufacturing, distribution and marketing, he showed me his own smart phone, and the two scratches on his protector that came from keys scraping on this phone. I asked him with some surprise why he keeps his keys in the same pocket as his phone -- I always keep my phone alone in my pocket. I showed him MY phone, which after over a year of use has nary a scratch on it, naked screen and all. He quickly changed the subject.
You are basically describing the same patience and forethought I have by treating my phone with care, preventing it from getting scratched, and then talking about it as a "powerful" way to manipulate reality. Well, I guess, if you want to think about it that way, but it is not an accurate way to think about it.
