People still follow it, Christianity is also a cult, it just has longevity that makes it 'respectable'. Longevity - custom, tradition, an overflow from simpler, more gullible times.

The dodgy desert trio? They're nothing but trouble.

The glee with which you anticipate the agony that you imagine will be inflicted is palpable, your pretense of wishing otherwise notwithstanding. Were modern society not a restraint upon you, one shudders at what you would do. People of your mindset were the loudest cheerleaders during such horrors as the Inquisition, the Salem witch hunt, and countless other examples of mass religious slaughter throughout the ages.

Rather than be conflicted by the psychopathic protagonist of the Old Testament, you revere it in all its psychotic malice.

All you have to do is push just a wee little bit to expose the rotten core of fundamentalist belief systems. It's why I always say that there's no difference between ISIS and fundamentalist Christians except that the Christians are restrained by secular laws.
I don't know about ISIS, but we practice love for our fellow man, as Christ instructed. My church operates a free medical and dental clinic for the poor, an after school kids club for at-risk kids, a food pantry, and several other ministries, all funded by the church.

An intelligent, reasonable person would not continue to follow a 2,000 year old cult. They must find substance within.

There is indeed a paradox there (I'm not sure about 'reasonable'), but life is full of such paradoxes. For many apparent religionists religion is largely a part of tribal custom, for those who take it seriously, the fire and brimstone crowd, there's a reason that religion is in decline in much of the developed world. It's called progress. If the fundamentalist pulpit master feels a bit out of step in the contemporary world, well, there's always those like minded brethren over in Tora Bora.

You may practice love of your fellow man, but your God sure doesn't many times. Like I said, you are better than your God whether you will admit that or not.

You speak out of ignorance. Obviously, you wish to remain so.
