She needs to go to jail. The case has been referred to the Kentucky Attorney General for possible filing of official misconduct charges, a criminal offense. If she continues to defy court orders to follow the law, then she needs to be jailed for contempt.
Lock her up and don't let her out until she complies with the order, or resigns her position. Let's see how long her faith lasts then.
I suspect the next thing that will happen is she will establish an online "account" so that other idio---, uh, fundamentalists will send her money so it won't make any difference if she has her job or not.
I lived in Kentucky for more years (17) than I've lived anywhere else--when they spot a gravy train they'll keep baking those biscuits.
Or we could exercise our American right to oppose and protest unjust law. Freedom of religion USED to mean something in this country. Congrats on destroying it.
No one is making her give up her beliefs. She can BELIEVE whatever she wants. Her actions, on the other hand, are a different matter.
You do realize religious belief goes beyond whatever thoughts we have in our mind, right?

The ONLY reason you say this is because you fully 100% support the law. If it involved something you found unjust, you wouldn't be singing the shut up and follow the law tune.

Which is why, as I keep saying, religious fundamentalism has been, and always will be, a clear and present danger to all of us who value individual freedom.
So if there was a new law forcing you to donate taxes to churches, you would have no problem with it huh? Laws typically only matter to most people whenever they affect them personally.

When you find the line in the Constitution (state or federal) that says a public employee has the right to decide who gets married and who doesn't..... let us know.
You, like every other American citizen, have the right to oppose the law. You do not have the right to break the law without consequences. Neither does she. She's choosing to break the law. Her consequences will probably be losing her job and sitting in jail. For which she'll be made a martyr by all the people who have NO idea how this country works and think religious freedom means they can be Special Snowflakes who can do whatever they want.
People protested unjust laws and as a result first the anti sodomy and then the anti SSM laws were overturned. The clerk has the right to protest the law but she does not have the right to be in contempt of court without having to face the consequences. You wish to deny people the rights that they fought for and recently won as a means of protecting democracy? So now your view has expanded from private business owners of non essential services to now anyone who works for the government should have the right to impose their religious beliefs on others.

How the heck does someone "donate" taxes?
Tax money can NOT be given to a church. That would be unconstitutional and a violation of the separation of church and state. Which you will learn if you ever sign up for those Civics classes and learn how this country works.

Freedom of religion is fine, in your house, in your church. In the REAL world, it is freedom FROM religion that dictates how things go when laws are passed. This is a country founded on freedoms, freedoms to worship and freedom NOT to worship. Your religion has no place in politics.
