Simpleton,

You did not read my post. I said that the dates were give are relative. It says things like:

Gen 5: 4: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6: And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7: And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8: And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

So Adam lived 930 years less the days that he lived after he begat seth are 800 years. So Adam begat Seth when he was 130 years old. Adam was created on day 6 of the creation week. So Seth was born 130 years after creation. We then do the same with Enos. Then we continue with this method through the text until we match up with historical events that we have an actual date in history like the carrying away of the Isrealites into captivity. See Usshers dating methods.

The Bible is accurate and can be used in this way. God does not forbid us from doing this method of Biblical study. On the contrary God says "Come and let us reason together."

This is what you stated Nikk

There is no reference in the bible to earth being created by God in 4004 BC. Stating that this is listed in the bible is not true. It's okay for you to believe this based on your own pressuppositions, you just shouldn't teach it as biblical Truth. God bless.

To deny that the earth evolved over billions of years is to deny continential drift and is a fanatical position, expecely considering its still going on, and that took far longer than your proposed time frame. and while many scientist admit that carbon dating may be inacurate it is generaly because of the posibility of contaimination, making things older than they seem not millions of years younger.

But what if the earth was created with the continents basically where they are today?

If you believe in a Biblical Creation, it is no problem to believe in a 6000 year old earth. If you don't believe in this, then yes, it must have taken a long, long time for the continents to get where they are today. It's all a matter of perspective.

well there buddy if god realy wanted us to believe in the bible why did he make it look exactly like the earth was billions of years old? why does look sooooo much liike there was once one continent (to the point of a mountain split in two) why does it appear so very much like the earth recycles rock, are you saying your god is stupid? that he has no forsight? its not a mater of perspective, its a matter of ignoring the facts as they present themselves or not

He didn't. He created it complete. For example, He created a mountain. The rock properties would have been much like they are today, but it was complete. A scientist might look at that mountain and say, it took millions of years to come to where it is today. People who believe in evolution are the ones who "make it look like the earth is billions of years old", not God.

so he made some mountains to look like they where pushed up, and then put two coliding plates beneath them to hieghten the effect, then he made another mountain look like it was created through volcanic actions then put the magma close to the surface there? believe me no mater how skeptical you are of science you are no more skepitcal then science itself, yet these are universaly accepted ideas. Take a geology course at a local comunity college, you will either run praying to drown out the facts or change your beliefs

My presupposition is that the bible is truly the word of God. It can be believed on the claims it makes on the age of the earth and on how to be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Biblical truth is biblical truth. God thought it was important to include it, so what's wrong in believing it.

Maybe you shouldn't be teaching your pressuppositional, humanistic beliefs. Maybe you should question why you have such distane for a person who takes Gods word at its simple face value and believes it to be true.
