Raise your hands if you're surprised. Yeah, yeah, yeah...First Timothy 4.

A crisis of basic biblical and theological knowledge exists in America’s churches, and church leaders must do all they can to address this growing problem, so say experts monitoring the beliefs of people in Christian churches across the United States.

“The Christian body in America is immersed in a crisis of biblical illiteracy,” warns researcher George Barna. “How else can you describe matters when most churchgoing adults reject the accuracy of the Bible, reject the existence of Satan, claim that Jesus sinned, see no need to evangelize, believe that good works are one of the keys to persuading God to forgive their sins, and describe their commitment to Christianity as moderate or even less firm?”

It is a tragic display of what's happened within the Body of Christ. It's because people are apologizing instead of learning apologetics. They are being swayed by man's fallible ideas.

I am not surprised as we were told to expect things of this nature by scripture. Oh, that's right, most don't believe the Scriptures, so they might be surprised.

It's only going to get worse .

To me, it shows that folks are engaging in a healthy skepticism and questioning of the dogma that has previously been accepted prima facia.

Hey,this just tells me that people are starting to think for themselves and are becoming a little more intelligent and skeptical and are not relying on any sacred book to tell them what to do or how to do it. You see that's one of the things that religion is afraid of, intelligent people who can think for themselves...

No surprises there. People who actually have knowledge of The Bible tend to abandon Christianity.

Whoops, been trying to tell that to you folks for awhile now

It is NOT accurate - any fool with half a brain can point that out.
Quote:
, reject the existence of Satan,
Transliterated from the Hebrew Sawtawn or Sawtan, no wonder? An adversary is not a person necessarily and definitely NOT a single being/entity.
Quote:
claim that Jesus sinned,
According to the law of Moses he did, claimed he was equal with god and worked on the sabbath, both punishable by death.
Quote:
see no need to evangelize,
Seeing most with a bit of research have and can see that hell is a mistranslation of Sheol, Hades, Gehenna and Tartarus and relates to the grave, realm of the dead or a defunct rubbish dump in Jerusalem aka as the valley of Hinnom where folk sacrificed infants to the god molech, folk do not really have a hell card to play anymore. We all will die and exit this life in a casket or urn.

Oh yeah and the rapture ready folk are/have run out of prophetic dates fer teh rupture.

A preemptive happy and prosperous 2013 to all rapture ready folks

Well kinda what Jesus taught about caring for the needy aka good works so yeah, maybe some have finally cottoned onto the REAL message of Jesus.
