The Christian God says he will torture me with fire for eternity for not obeying. I'd say that's ruling with an iron fist. The Islamic God says pretty much the same thing.

On the other hand, he offers you forgiveness and an eternity in heaven with him if you repent and accept his gift of forgiveness.

No, in fact He never said that in all the bible. You may have heard that from a pulpit but I assure you, it is not in the Bible.

This is the morality central to conservative Christianity. It's authoritarianism plain and simple. It's the might makes right morality they want to force on the entire nation via the political process.
