Yes For Christians who have the baptism of Holy Spirit gifts are given with the lead in the spirit of the purpose of Jesus Christ and unity with God have the spiritual authority of the believer , for to ask for forgiveness of sins , and deliverance of spirits and direct the redemption of Jesus for all who are interested in loving the Lord .... See this is unity with Jesus
Well, yes. Authority to transform (I suppose) lives within the group already and who accept a particular authority. That doesn't apply outside the group, even if they believe that it does.
But my answer is no ... you do not have the authority to transform lives.
To claim authority is to claim dominance ... which is to say that you would have some sort of divine right to force a transformation upon people whether they want it or not.
And that is precisely why religion becomes so dangerous -- to even ask the question about authority should alert everyone as to this person's mindset.
When people begin believing they have authority from God to start meddling in the affairs of others, that's when, before long, those same people begin meddling with the government, our laws, our courts, and our freedoms.
Amen, Shirina. My thoughts are with you in your troubles.
Suggesting that someone's life needs transforming is an impertinence that is tolerated only in the religious it seems. Since it's an impertinence, of course you would need to assert some kind of "authority" to insert yourself into other people's business.
It's time to break out. It's time to step on up and come out of the "house" into the streets. It's time to take authority over your circumstances. No more self-abasement, nor more thinking, "I can't do this." You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Elijah's mission was to awaken the Israelites to their apostasy, backsliding, lukewarmness, and to call them back to loyalty to God. Are you a Reformer? Believe God for the impossible and you too like Elijah will transform lives.
"And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the Kingdom of Heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force (as a precious prize -- a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion)." AMP - Matthew 11:12
You're mixing a legitimate form of authority -- authority over your own life -- permission to make changes to your own existence -- with an illegitimate form of authority over other people's lives. Pretty classic tactic. Get someone to accept the right they already have to direct their own lives, and then suggest that they have the right to direct the lives of others, too.
By the way, red text is the exclusive purview of forum moderators here ... spare yourself the reprimand and don't use that color.

^^^^^Deserves repeating and repeating!! Everything about God is about individual VOLUNTARY compliance, period. Forcing anyone to do anything is totally USELESS and AGAINST God's wishes.
