Could not have said it better. He speaks of love and forgiveness, but I have never seen either from him, and would venture to guess that no one on here has. I have seen anger, frustration, misery, and hate, but certainly not love/joy or forgiveness.

Well at least he can say that he's a typical Christian then.

Stand by for...BooHoo! Stop persecuting me!

Jeff feels badly for the other Jeff because he's being vilified for making a mistake.

But Jeff's A-OK with a god-thing who condemns babies to eternal hellfire because they were born with an invisible sin-stain handed down by fictional characters thousands of years ago.

Poor old Jeff. He is a good man fighting what he thinks is right. I do find it hard to understand why he can't accept that he has got some of this wrong, as everyone, Christian or atheists or - as Troutdude is - "Agnostic", seems to disagree with him.

I'd diagnose this as a Personal -Faith problem, which is that he feels that he is right on Faith - which is to say; an instinctive belief that God is putting the Truth into his head.

To accept that some of it - ANY of it - was wrong would smash the whole delusion. Which is why such people cannot EVER admit to being wrong about anything (subconsciously) considered to be divinely inspired Truth.

Which is also why, with such people, when some tiny thing - almost insignificant - snaps the last stick holding fast the floodgates of pent -up, denied doubt, the whole thing gives way, and another deconvert joins our ranks.

Bottom line - to make Good people bad, that takes Religion.

If I sound mean then it is only a reflection of the venom throw at me. I stand up for truth. Christ was pretty mean to the Pharisees and the money changers in the temple. There is such a thing as a righteous anger and it does make me angry to see atheists post lies about Christians here.

Plus, I have a low tolerance level for rude JUDGEMENTAL condescending people.

For the nth time, this is a DISCUSSION forum, not real life. Tell me, how is one suppose to express love and joy in a controversial debate topic? I can't even have a civil conversation with your ilk because it quickly erodes into personal attacks which you are doing here. It's CHEAP disgusting and downright PATHETIC.

The only loving thing to do in this environment is to politely walk away which I do every time. Sadly, atheists stubbornly refuse to do the same even when I politely tell people like Nozz or badlander that I have no desire have any more correspondence with them ever again and I have to just resort to blocking people. Atheists always get the last word in. I guess it feeds the ego.

Maybe you have to work on that. You're not Jesus, for one thing. You don't have the same right to throw judgment.

I don't get angry at atheists. They are doing what atheists are expected to do, and many times, they have valid points. An atheist calling me names or ridiculing my belief in God can't hurt me. An atheist saying Christians or other religious people have no business shoving their beliefs into political power, however, can make me think. They are correct. That harms not only society, but distorts the faith and makes it something other than it was intended to be.

Great post, Jeff!

Not only have you debunked the false view of Gospel -Jesus as Mr nice, but you have revealed the true agenda, which isn't the gay thing, but atheism, that you are going after.

And you point up nicely the False News of the Gospels - that atheists lie about Christians, when I can only recall us telling the truth, other Christians agreeing (or not going in to stand back to back with you) and you getting angry when shown to be wrong if not actually posting false views. The attempt to whitewash Kim Davis is an example that comes to mind.

1. You have zero proof that any element of Christianity is fiction. ZERO.

2. Any infant or child who dies before the age of accountability receives eternal life. A person has to make a conscious heart decision to reject God in order to be sent to hell.
