One could write a lot about the subject, but I think this best describes the issue of how destructive and damaging rote allegiance to a religion, any religion, can be. My perspective is we need to start to realize that whatever was written 2000 years ago, written by the superstitious, uneducated minds of the Bronze Age
Middle East can not be taken as reality, and should not be part of the consideration in public policy or discourse. Keep it at home and the place of worship, but that's it.

According to “Religion”?
That’s too much of a broad statement to smear all faiths.

For example, in the Islamic faith - ALL children are regarded as flowers of paradise - and ALL children go to paradise regardless of their faith.

My perspective is that you need to realize how backwards and uneducated you are, and how what you write is silly and doesn't make sense.

LOL, I think you have everyone convinced, yeah, that did the trick.

The left side of the message is certainly what Calvinists and other fundie sub-sects teach. Which is why I keep them squarely in the sights of my literary guns. Some of you may recall the failed pastor Vizio, who posted here for a few years. He could have written the left side of that little girl's paper.

But I don't think it's true for Jews, Muslims or more liberal Christians.

Job.7
[17] What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

Pss.8
[4] What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

What is the cut-off date for automatic inclusion into paradise... exactly.

That is mostly true for mostly all "religions."

However, many would argue this is not true of god's vision of us.

Is it a smear if it is factual? We know these things are taught certainly in the more evangelical/fundamentalist Christian branches, and they reference the bible as the cause. As this is a fact, how is it a smear?

Can you reference that? Is that in the Quran? Hadiths? Sunni or Shi'ite faith?

I may be atheist, but I don't like it.

That kid didn't write those things.

I think Vizio is still here, just under a different name.
