It tries to convince us we are more powerful, less fallible, less limited, and less vulnerable than we are.
And on the flip side it can convince us we are weak, incredibly limited and small, and scared.
It will do anything to keep us from the Truth...it will use laziness and doubt to
distract us from our Goal.
So? What do we do? We trick it.

That doesn't sound like my ego. One's ego involves the way a person sees themselves and the way they imagine that others see them. My ego stopped worrying about that sort of thing long ago.
Ego is psychology, so this belongs in that forum. Freud and all of his and others' theories go there.
It also goes into psych....but, not 'only'.
When speaking of it in terms of 'it' is what keeps us from Reality....it goes here. Sorry, you know I luv ya.
Call it what you will , doesn't need a name...so it's not a theory...it is the part of us,
that does not have our best interest at heart....the part that gets anger, worries, hates,
eats too much, is lazy...

I don't think it's the ego that wants to keep us from Truth. The ego is part of the machinery that we need to survive on earth.
I do not believe that anyone transcends the ego. We can try to be aware of the devious influences that use our ego as a doorway. But they won't give up, and they probably just get more devious as we become more aware.

That's ego.
The bad stuff is pride, anger, jealousy, laziness...and so on. Being happy with yourself for a job well done...sure that's ego, no harm...of course, it's better to thank God for giving you the know-how and strength.
