Yes, Falun Gong is under a lot of persecution and ridicule from many people and even some states. Personally I notice it mostly within different forums I been a part of. Much of the ridicule comes from people do not know what cultivation path is, and they do not see the benefit of more strict practice.

Thats a gross understatement, they are being unofficially "vanished" and harvested by organ sellers.
When a group is brutalized in such a methodical fashion it speaks to the threat they are to evil.

Yes in China, Falun Gong practitioners are killed, tortured, and ripped apart from families every day. and all because of CCP that has made it their cause to destroy Falun Gong and our teacher Li Hongzhi.
A reason I was careful to speak up directly about this in this forum, is because i noticed that when I speak fully about both the teaching and how practitioners have been treated, the ridicule is getting stronger toward me as a person

yes, when we our beliefs are directly evaluated next to other claims that seem to be more valid we tend to start in on the person. Right after thats woo, you don't listen for god, not a real atheist or not a real theist, and a host of other tactics.

Wow. Welcome. You are the first ever here that I know of. We have no Tao/Conficianism or even Buddhism thread that you can use, but consider this your 'dedicated' thread.
So... what's Falun Gong all about? Why has it got such a following? What is its' relationship with Other Chinese religions and that import from the Barbarian West, Christianity? (I'm supposing you are Chinese and not a foreign convert) and... mainly.. what's the problem with the government? Is it just that it is Not Authorised by them and thus is considered illegal?
They don't mind a religion as long as they are the head of it.
They don't even like atheism if it expresses spiritual principles.
Thats probably where falun gong runs afoul.
