I've been on discussion boards for over 20 years and have never put another poster on ignore. I simply skip past the posts of those I've deemed boring or stupid.
Just out of curiosity, how do you manage your Ignore list for R&S forum?
What is a your selection criteria?
How many have you collected?
Where did you collect them?
Do you ever release any of them?
What would be your reason to release?
How do you feel about getting them on the ignore list?
Me:
Boring, racist, sexist, abusive, profane. All of equal value. Some are on mutual ignore list.
About half a dozen.
Politics, and this forum. Figures, right?
Sometimes but they usually go back. Incorrigibles.
Nothing
Love seeing interesting, thoughtful posts now filtered of annoyance.
I have two ignore lists.
One is the formal ignore list built into the forum. I have a rule -- no more than 3 people on that ignore list at any one time. If some other poster and I just get into squabbles all the time without progress, they end up on that list. These are people whom it seems like talking to them is like talking to a wall.
I also have my mental ignore list. There are a handful of posters whose posts I simply skip over UNLESS some responds to one of their posts and the response piques my interest enough to go back and read the post they responded to. Annoying posters get on this list. Repetitive posters get on this list.
I guess so, if you liken darker complexion people to tar, but that's has nothing to do with the moral of the story.
No i don't think that. I wouldnt think that even if i werent poc myself. But i always thought it had racist connotation against black people. I am not arguing with you, but i was just taken aback to see that, particularly from you.

Today it is generally considered to be a racial slur. Originally, I believe, it was about getting into a sticky situation.
