It seems to depend upon the person. I say that because UFO's are well documented and yet some seem hostile to acknowledging their presence.

As old saying goes
You can yell halva all you want to
Does not make it sweet in your mouth.

PS. Sorry. And, this is why ANY thoery of the origin of the universe is nothing but a theory, as it is non reproducible. Same goes for origins of life.
A theory does not mean it's unreplicatable. Theories may contain laws which are lesser in science than are theories. Gravity and plate tectonics will remain theories no matter how much evidence or experimentation the future provides.

Theories are also not predictions the allow predictions to be made. Not all science is reproducible. Hypothesis can be tested but are not theories either though they can lead to one. Those three things are different.

Sorry but that is why you are incorrect about theories.

That's where it's a little bit different than UFOs, ghosts and stuff. I'm sure people claimed that stuff in antiquity and we still have people who claim them now.

Interesting thread concept though.
Ancient myths seem more implausible because they flout what we know now moreso than modern myths. But both sets of myths were "cutting edge" when they first appeared. Myth making requires some plausibility, a standard which changes over time.

How are you defining "well documented" in this particular case?

and being here for political reasons and not addressing what spirituality claims have merit and what ones don't are not scientific either. in a religion and spirituality section I might add.

It's well-known that there are high ranking government officials who have validated their presence.

The same logic also applies to the “theory” that we came from a chimp.

It’s not reproducible.
