As I recall, Rafius was also one of your favorites for memorable phrases.
The Snarkmaster!
He was, and will always be, the best at snarky comebacks and wiseguy retorts...with the sharpest wit. He cracked me up scores of times.
Our exchanges would elicit reprimands...people telling us to quit being so snide to each other...not knowing it was in jest.
I wasn't aware that the purpose for a forum about religion and spirituality was supposed to be entertaining and a blast.
Participation on "discussion" type Internet Forums could certainly be considered a form of entertainment.
It can take on lots of different vibes...why not mirthful be one of them?

Not interested in your opinion any longer. I've learned yesterday and today not to take you seriously. IGNORE.
Arach and Julian have tipped their hand often enough (1), railing at the dangers of the Liberal ideals and values, and that puts their beef squarely in the agenda of defending Conservative values, and gives us the reason why they defend a religion they don't actually believe in.
Julian, rather amusingly, posted a debate between Christopher and Peter Hitchens intended to show that Christianity has the better case. But Julian doesn't beleive it so why is he in there batting for Christianity?
I'd say the slips they make in revealing their true motives (the tosh about Plausible scientific hypotheses for Sortagod is a Red Herring) is all the evidence that is needed to suss out what's really going on, here.
(1) Goldie, too, in the past but he is, a lot more canny about that now, or has perhaps forgotten what he is actually fighting for in his obsession with what (or whom) he is fighting against. I suspect that the enemy in time becomes more important than the cause.
And when the enemy is labeled, even though many Americans have conservative and liberal characteristics, it's an effortless way to keep the fight going.

It isn't ... but it helps. What to keep in mind is 'choose your battles'. We are not here to entertain Goldie or anyone else, and, unless there is good reason to fillet or blast some post of a habitual fiddler - for God, it's best ignored. Being treated as invisible upsets them far worse than slamming.

From what I gather, the label for the atheist liberals was applied in the McCarthy era, and is US social psyche for about 40% of the population.
