My children would be very lucky to have been raised an observant Jew. They got me instead.

True God. How did he know the True God from the pagan god?
Nation - Did Abraham leave his family, home and go to another place and establish a nation? How did he acquire this land, from whom, and how? Is this the origin of Judaism, from this one family, former pagan worshippers?
Abrahams decedents eventually became Christians and Muslims, one from Jesus, the other being Mohammad?
Is the birth of Jesus to Mary the rift of Christianity from Abraham?
The only original descendants of Abraham are Jews?
Abraham worshipped the one "true" God. What does that mean...

I think one aspect of this is that his "god" was the only God and not one of many. Abraham gets credit for monotheism in some circles.

Also, Abraham's "god" was considered "different" than other gods even if they were "mono" gods due to the fact that Abe's god was more moral and ethical than the other gods.

There is dispute as to whether Abraham's "God" was the only "real" God... or just the only righteous and most powerful one. Thus the only "true" god.

Abraham moved from a place called "Ur" to what is now Israel and set up shop for the new people under the true God. I think "Ur" in what is now Iraq.

Abraham's descendants by Isaac became Hebrews/Jews. Abraham's descendants through his slave girl's son Ishmael... became non Jewish sematic tribes who later became Muslims.

Early Jews who believed Jesus was the Jewish messiah were the first Christians. Then the apostle Paul decided to open Christianity up to non Jews and they became "gentile" Christians.

The "rift" in Christianity from Judaism has to do with Jesus being the long awaited Messiah. Jews don't believe he was the Messiah. Christians think he was. The birth of Jesus to Mary being a "prophecy" an Old Testament prophecy would be a point of contention between Christians and Jews. Jews would take the verses that Christian's claim indicate the Jesus' Messiah hood and claim they mean something else.

And yes, effectively every Jewish person alive would say they go back to Abraham although that is likely not true.

Would Jewish children be taught the world hates them for being observant?

That's reality, it's not something you can hide from a child.

Turn observant and your own family will hate you and your wife will divorce you.

Jews walk around with a target on their back whether they are observant or not.
They are not "taught" that. It is a lived experience.

what point is it specifically that you are wanting to make in this thread? in your own words, because a link does not indicate your own views and opinions.

Here is a link to "Anti-Semitism High in Black Community."
This is relevant to the thread topic and current discussion of antisemitism

"African-Americans continue to be significantly more likely than white Americans to hold anti-Jewish beliefs. As with whites, education level is the most important factor affecting the attitudes of blacks toward Jews.
Confirming the three previous studies, black Americans remain considerably more likely than white Americans to hold anti-Semitic views. In the 1998 survey, blacks (34%) are nearly four times as likely as whites (9%) to fall into the most anti-Semitic category."

Afraid of it?

But since you ask, you mentioned something about Jews having "a target on their back". I'd say welcome to the club of various minority groups who have a target on their backs. All the more confounding when someone with a target on their backs puts targets on other people's backs.

How did a thread about teaching children religion and spirituality become about antisemitism? Let us get back to teaching children to love themselves and to love others because God is love.
