I have read the Secret, I found it to be deceiving because it only presents half truths. It's like all you have to do is ask, an like a genie, poof there it is.
All one has to do is ask, is correct, but then the work starts. If one holds the thought or idea into the mind, then the doors will start to open, but you have to know where the doors are. It doesn't just fall out of the sky and land in your lap.
The "secret" behind the secret can be found in many ancient eastern texts albeit without the "getting what I want" modern interpretation.
Why limit oneself to what the mind's desire is? IMO it is wiser to learn to forget the trials & tribulations of life and focus on the inner being or
Infinite that one is a part of.
Anyone come across this DVD/documentary? I recently stumbled onto it and found it very interesting. Thoughts?
Yes it is very interesting, hopefully it will spark a desire to seek more. Keep searching and don't stop here, the real truth is yet to be revealed. The "secret" in all due respect still keeps the law of attraction secret.
I read it a couple of years ago and liked it as an interesting read. I found the book to be more of a mindset and way of life kind of thing.
I did believe some of the sections getting rid of clutter in your life, keeping an open mind. I believe some people do attract trouble in their lives by how they behave towards others - and some people attract goodness by how they behave.
I don't believe you can visualize and receive checks in the mail. That was a little far fetched. Sitting on the couch not doing anything and visualize money. There needs to be more work and effort into ones life than that.
