Look at the rest of the chapter. He was making a point to them and he spoke in illustrative language so as to help them take it to heart. He did this often. I doubt if you had been there, and were discouraged because you hadnt been able to dispell a demon, you'd hear those words and think 'oh, he wants me to try to move a mountain-let's try it!'. By this point, his apostles knew his teaching methods and were familiar w/ his use of illustrations.

When believers, filled with the Holy Spirit, pray according to God's will, not our own, our prayers will be answered. Maybe not the answer WE want, but they will be answered. Our prayers must align with the will of God.

Again, when God does what he wants anyway, what's the point of prayer?

Prayer may not change my situation, but it does change me. And I enjoy the privilege of talking to the Almighty Heavenly Father who created this world everything in it, just to know He loves me, cares about me and I can pour out my heart to Him and He understands like no one else can.

If God had it His way, then you wouldn't be questioning Him.

God gives all of us Free Will.

So since Jesus rarely speaks literally, how can we take what he says about God literally?

God does have his way, otherwise he would change things. You do believe God is omnipotent, dont you? And if God gave us free will, then he gave us reason and logic. Why would he not want us to use it?

I do believe that prayer can change the individual. But there is no evidence that it is God making the changes. Meditation changes people too. I could pray to Zeus, and if I truly believed, it would affect me.

Can you prove that God does have His way?

Your questions are contradicting each other.

Either He changes it or He allows us to use free will

Prove that meditation changes people.

Make up your mind....I thought you said God never answered your prayers...now you're saying if you pray to Zeus, And you truly believed, then it would affect you.

You just answered your question to why your prayers were never answered.

You never truly believed.
