I have to wonder how my life would be if I wasn't being constantly bombarded with religion. How much more time would I have?
How many minutes are shamelessly stolen from my life by having to deal with Christian beliefs? I don't go from door to door preaching the words of science and rational thought. Why do those who preach the "word of god" feel it is perfectly fine to knock on my door and rant for five minutes about something I not only consider to be fictitious, but offensive as well?
If I did go door to door discussing atheism or antitheism I'm sure I would not only have hundreds of doors slammed in my face, but I would be screamed at if not physically attacked. Why is one "ok" and not the other?
I'm not trying to start a brawl here, but this question needs to be asked. Why is one belief "acceptable" and not the other? Why do those who preach "acceptance" find atheism and antitheism so unacceptable?
They're commanded in their instruction manual to symbolically, and in some cases literally, knock on doors "spreading the gospel". But, ask for evidence for their claims and you're seen as evil.

Because the they don’t like the fact that the tests Atheist use to validate or inspect religions is consistent for all religious beliefs. Those who feel the need to go door-to-door only want those test to apply to other beliefs than their own. It’s selective and they don’t have a good explantation for it other than their faith is “the truth”.
I think that there are some people that are so passionate and convinced about their spirituality that they feel personally or socially compelled to share their views with everyone. I can respect that enthusiasm. But when their prospect declines the invitation to learn more, they can seem personally offended.
I, for one, am glad for the continuation of the separation of Church and State even though many presidents feel the desire/obligation to proclaim "God Bless America" at the end of their speeches. I'm also glad that we can have (more or less ) civil discussions here and elsewhere without the fear people experience in nations in the Middle East, Africa and even Northern Ireland.

Because it's not truth. Christianity is truth and that's a fact end of discussion

I'm bombarded with religion IN THIS VERY SECTION! lol. Are you kidding me?
Then there is the president that you people elected, my neighbors, JW's bangin on the door, it's everywhere. Churches are more common around here than any other business. Bumper stickers galore. Jesus fish a plenty. It's EVERYWHERE I turn.

All I can say to that line is "whew". Talk about a misuse of the "f" word.

Really?? What city or town do you live in back east that must be rare? For the cult JW's put a little sign on your door that says you will not talk to JW"s and to go away. I just answer the door and debate them they soon leave seeing they don't get anywhere. What they do is "flag" my house and they don't come here anymore. I'm truly sorry they bug you that's a bummer.

YapCity, you spend a HUGE amount of time here at City Data Forum in religious threads debating the validity of Christianity (but of course, you feel it's invalid). So as I read it, YOU YOURSELF "shamelessly" use your precious minutes "bombarding" Christians with your atheistic drivel.
Seems like you bring it on yourself and keep it going.....and going.....and going....
And I'm sorry, but I don't buy that Christians are bombarding your life every time you turn around. I can't figure out how the fish sign is a bombardment in your life.
