Most likely, everything you have read about Christianity is about the Nicenes, i.e., Christians who believe in the Nicene Creed, the Nicene Bible, and that the creator god of the Old Testament is the father of Christ who died for the sins of mankind.
I am a Gnostic, I believe that the god of the OT is the Satan of the New Testament, that Christ came to give us the wisdom to escape the creator's prison of reality and did not die for our sins, and I believe in the Gnostic Gospels, not the Pauline books (Paul never even knew Christ) or the books of the OT ( save for Psalms and Proverbs, which speak of the unknowable
GOD and Sophia and not Yaldabaoth, satan, the creator)
Hence, I am a Christian...just the kind of Christian that would have been burned at the stake 1,000 years ago.
