A Born Again Christian is someone who has asked Jesus to be their Saviour, to forgive them and come into their lives - there is a commitment and desire to follow Christ - a death of the old self and the birth of the new, hence the phrase Born Again. I just call myself a Christian, I follow Christ, yes I am born again by Gods Spirit, but surely all christians who follow Christ sincerely should be dead to their old self and born again by Gods Spirit?

You can't be born again until you have died . . . rebirth is as a Spirit. The expressions translated as "born of God" as a "child of God" or "son of God" use the "begat" (Strong's 1080) status (conception as a seed of a soul) by God's Holy Spirit. Our life in this physical body is as a "spiritual embryo" maturing in the physical "womb" of our brain under the guidance and urging of the Holy Spirit.
