Personally if I couldn't get good movies with lots of sex and violence I'd just have it disconnected.

Actually, I think the OP wants to go back to the old Rin Tin Tin, Lassie and Father Knows Best days........and that darn sure isn't going to happen!! And, even though we don't like some of the programming on today, we just try to stay away from it.......that's all that can be done! Heck, we were told that the movie Gran Torino was a good one, but with all the language we heard in it, we are just glad that we rented it, not bought it!! Of course, the language in it is what made it a realistic type of movie.
I was never a big Ozzy Osborne/Black Sabbath fan and when the one time I turned on the Osborne's family show, I was (sort of) shocked by the way Ozzy talked. I lost count of the number of times he used the "f" word during the show!!
Sexual references and comments as well as "language" is in movies, on tv and on the Internet.......basically no way to get away from it!

I use to watch those home improvement shows, now they are mostly run by homosexuals.

I use to let my kids watch Disney shows, now most are created and star homosexuals.

The news is filled with sex, violence and corruption.

The teen shows teach kids many ungodly principles.

Can a christian own a television hooked up to cable, satellite or jut a plain antenna in today's world and not bring sinful programming into the home?
TV's gone all secular and anti-religion since "long".

It's neither good nor bad.

Personally, I've always thought that those who do too much tv have nothing better in their lives to do

I know folks who "sit" and "watch" for a "LONG" time. The last time I saw too much tv I was a teenager, watching either cricket, news or some history show.

Too much "useless" tv is for simpletons and googletons Octomom will have a show in a few days. Folks are gonna watch it. They're gonna discuss it on message boards. It's the state of the world today. They'll wish for a hexadecimal mom next.

I guess homosexuals can't teach home improvement now either?!? What can they do in your "free" society? I get confused, what with all the yelling about "freedom" on one hand and efforts to suppress it on the other.

Perhaps if we lured them all into an Abba dance party and then gassed them, that would suffice for your needs...? It seemed to work out pretty well the last time society sought to purge a segment.....

The homophobia in our society is reaching epic levels. I guess that's to be expected just before the collapse of the resistance. Racial hatred flared up during the civil rights movement, and now we have a black president.

I wonder what you'll do when we have a homosexual president....?

That's good, I have two sources of entertainment.
Seriously though, I get hundreds of channels and almost all of them are something I would never have a desire to watch. I haven't watched a weekly show from one of the networks like a sitcom or drama in at least 30 years. It's not sex and violence or language that I find objectionable, it's mediocrity. I do watch alot of documentaries about science, criminal cases and alot of other things which are pretty good. I also watch the news and I get all of the movie channels that are available. I refuse to watch a movie that's been edited and I hate advertisements.

Personally, I think this is one of the dumbest threads I've seen in a long time. Get a life. Just because Jesus wasn't depicted in the Bible as sitting down naked in a beanbag chair eating Cheetos on Saturday night as he watched gay men on the Do It Yourself Channel talking about refurbishing an old master closet doesn't mean you're going to catch the dreaded "Gay Disease" and it doesn't mean you're going to hell.

What about a show that seems wholesome and pure, but yet are produced, created, and acted by people who are heterosexual, but are living with their boyfriend/girlfriend?

Very good point, kdbrich.

You can't shield your children from the immorality and ugliness of the World. The best way is to arm them with the right teachings and your own example of living a righteous life.

Buh. I betcha that there is much higher chance of being exposed to objectionable things on the internet than you would find on TV AND you have better control over the TV than you do the internet.
