My father used to turn off his hearing aid during the sermons because listening would just make him angry.

Well, I have read replys where some people have agreed with me (my feelings) about certain sermons. Others, like Mrs Shawn_2828 who keeps saying that I want "verification" of God's word/Bible, pretty much disagree with me. "Just sit there and listen, you just might learn how God wants you to be!" One thing I will say about that, if EVERYONE would listen and DO what God wants........this world we live in would be in a lot better shape! Now, here is my "sarcastic" remark......ISN'T going to happen!! Now, that is just plain truth and reality.
Funny thing is, my wife sometimes will tell me that what I think/talk about is just to logical/real. I tell her that we don't live back in the Lassie, Ozzie/Harriet (Nelson's) and Father's Knows Best days! Back then, every day life was much easier (and safer). Family values exsisted then, as they don't now (or very much). Yes, those were the "good ol' days" that most likely we will never see again! My wife and I lived thru them and it was GREAT!

One other thing, my dad fell asleep during almost every sermon on Sunday mornings. My mom had to nudge him to wake him up. In fact, if it wasn't for my mom, my dad most likely wouldn't even gone to church at all! He died a number of years ago and, without a doubt, I believe he is with God in his Kingdom.....even though he did smoke a pipe a lot, swear at times and have a beer once in a while.
