To this day we are still seeking knowledge, but that is what makes us human. Our greatest thinkers would not be who they were if Adam had not eaten the apple from the tree of knowledge. Man would not understand how to kill or be mean to another man with out knowledge, but who would of wanted to stay a gorilla in the garden of eden for ever. The north african mountain gorillas are very content in their lives munching on leaves all day. What man do you know would give it all up to go back to that. Here is a great saying "Ignorance is bliss". The creation myth is not fact but a story that the ancients used to explain where a thinking animal called man came from. The ancients understood as we do that we are the only sentient tool making animal on earth. They came up with a story of how it happened, but then again they believed in many superstitious beliefs back then also. We are a thinking animal because DNA evolved into what we are, not because two fictational characters were tempted by a non thinking animal i.e. the serpent that talked them into eating a apple. Come on!!!!!!!!!!!

The serious harm of the Torah of Ezra

Nabuchodonosor attacked Palestine, conquered Jews and took them captives to Babylon where they stayed 70 years, then they returned to Palestine, and started to rebuild their temple.

Their Torah had been torn up by Nabuchodonosor, and they started to re-write the Torah. Each one of four of their scholars brought a Torah which they refused because of many defects: adding and missing parts.

Then came the priest Ezra who wrote a Torah, leaving the word God as an empty space in the book, then he wrote that space with an invisible ink (using the silver nitrate solution)

See about his trickery here:

The Torah [or Hebrew Bible] of Ezra

He made serious alterations in the Torah of God: added, deleted and distorted and changed many statements → which led to their denial of Jesus and Mohammed.

Among his serious distortions was the story of Adam and Eve.

Some remarks on the story of Adam and Eve in the Torah of Ezra:
1- There is no tree of knowledge, which if you eat of it → it will let you distinguish between good and evil.
2- There is no fruit: that if you eat of it → it will open the eye!
3- The apple is a good and wholesome and delicious food which is not harmful.
4- The snake does not speak to people.
5- God is All-Knowing and Eternal and Most High, and will not come to have a walk in the garden where Adam and Eve where,
and will not investigate and inquire of Adam and Eve, but He knows all things about man and every being.
6- The snake was created from the start: moving on its belly; and it does not eat dust, but eats insects and small animals.
7- The garden of Adam was on a mountain on this Earth, and it was not in heaven → so the sin of Adam did not influence us, and was not any primary sin;
but only it is a lesson to people that they should not disobey God Almighty, and should not follow the footsteps of Satan.

Moreover, the story of Ezra about Adam and Eve enhanced and promoted the atheism: because they call this story the creation myth;

and it suggested to them the theory of Evolution: because God said to the snake: you will move on your belly ...etc. which gave the wrong notion that it had legs then it lost them ...etc.

The act of Ezra was very serious when he distorted the Book of God; therefore, God promised him with a most grievous punishment,
as in the Quran 2: 79

The explanation:
(Therefore, woe be to those who write the scripture with their hands and say, “ This is from God”, that they may purchase a small gain therewith.

Woe to them for that their hands have written, and woe to them for that [unlawful money and position] they have earned [thereby])

God promised him with the torment because he said that that book was from God; while he omitted many things which he did not write,

including the description of Mohammed - peace be on him - which he did not write,

and he added much of his own words to the Torah, altered some of the instructions

and changed some of the religious duties;

and that was a cause of their blasphemy and disbelieving in Jesus prophecy and Mohammed’s mission.

The books lost from the Bible collection

These books that had been lost by time, were some books of the prophets ( refer to my post 36 in this thread)

Such lost books are affirmed by the words of the Bible itself.

This loss of such books gives you an idea about what tremendous changes and distortions occurred in the Bible, to the extent that complete books had totally been lost.

Some Books, Of The Hebrew Bible, Are Lost

The original Torah was in Hebrew, and the original Gospel in Aramaic

Here we have to ask: what is the original bible? And where is such original bible now?

The Bible consists of the Old Testament which is the Torah in addition to the Psalms of David and the books of the prophets. This is the Torah collection which originally was written in Hebrew.

We have told you about the distortions included in the Torah of Ezra, on which they depend for their Old Testament.

The original Torah had been torn up by Nabuchodonosor, and the present Torah was written by the priest Ezra son of Siraeh following their return from the captivity of Babylon.

In addition to that, the Old Testament that you have is not in its original language: the Hebrew; but it is the translations from some Greek sources, and there are many versions with different translations, and I can give you many examples how the translation have distorted the meaning giving many words which differ according to the translator.

While according to the Gospel available now: it is the translation from intermediate Greek source which is not the original Gospel that was revealed in Aramaic.

And it is obvious that Prophet Jesus – salam to him – spoke one gospel: not four gospels that are present now, and which differ obviously between one gospel and another.

And when you resort to the history, you will find the emperor Constantine burnt the seventy gospels that were prevalent at his time and selected these four gospels.

In addition, the translations added more distortions, according to the understanding of the translator, his language capability and his purpose.

Another mistake in the Torah of Ezra: Eve was created from a rib of Adam!

[7] Ezra said in Genesis 2: 21-22
" 21 Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
22 He made the rib, which Yahweh God had taken from the man, into a woman, and brought her to the man."

In the Quran, God did not say that Eve was created from the rib of Adam.

And how can the woman body, which is almost like the body of Adam with only some anatomical differences, be created from a rib!?

In fact Eve was created of the same mud as was Adam created.

And in fact all the animals had been created from earth or mud (decayed organic substances): God created male and female and they reproduced to fill the earth.

God – be glorified – said in the Quran 4: 1

The explanation:
(O mankind, ward off [the disobedience of] your Lord, Who created you from [the remnants of the corpse of] one soul, and created of its [likeness] its mate, and – from them twain – spread abroad a multitude of men and women.)

The story:

There were some planets in the past before our earth, and those planets had been broken up in the previous Doomsday.

That planet was inhabited with man, animal and plant.

Then when that planet was destroyed, some of its parts fell on our Earth to be the mountains.

Then on our Earth, God created Adam on a mountain, where there was a grave containing the remnants of the corpse of some inhabitants of that broken up planet.

Then when the rain came down, some of the rain water mixed with the decayed organic substances in that grave, and became putrid, blackened semi-dry mud or wet dust.

From that mud, God created Adam, and then from the same mud He created Eve.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Treat women kindly, for woman was created from a bent rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is the top part, so treat women kindly.”

Are you putting limits on God, saying He could not do such a thing? So He can create a man out of mud, but He couldn't create a woman from man's rib?

I've been meaning to ask you, how do you come to the conclusion that Ezra wrote the Torah?

Wow, moonsun, so are you saying you disagree with Eanassir?

I did a quick search on this, and it does seem Muhammad taught that Eve was created from Adam's rib.

Moonsun is right. I grew up with tons of muslims and they all stick to the same Eve creation account

I dunno what Eanassir's source is. Let's wait for the man to come back

The Qruan and the Prophetic tradition (or hadith)

The entire Quran is authentic; it is the word of God: word by word and letter by letter; it was conveyed to Prophet Mohammed by the angel Gabriel; Prophet Mohammed - salam be to him - heard it from the angel and in his turn conveyed it to people who knew it then by heart and wrote it down on leaves, boards, leather, parchment ...etc. according to the instruction of Prophet Mohammed himself.

On the other hand, the prophetic traditions (Hadiths) are not entirely authentic; i.e. some hadiths are true and others are false or fabricated and attributed to the prophet that he said it, while in fact he did not say such false hadiths.

Therefore, any prophetic tradition (hadith) that contradicts the Quran, then it is a false hadith.

Now, about the prophetic tradition saying that Eve had been created from a rib of Adam: nothing like this is mentioned in the Quran, i.e. there isn't any aya of the Quran saying that Eve had been created from the rib of Adam.

Moreover, it is known that there is a large number of hadiths which were derived from "Israeli origin"; it means such hadiths were adopted from the Israeli traditions, then mixed with the prophetic traditions and attributed to the Prophet, while nothing of that is mentioned in the Glorious Quran.
