The cup of testing the bride, the cup of jealousy that all must drink to see if they have committed adultery against God by involving themselves in the worship of other God's and the ways of the world like Israel did at Sinai. They had to drink the bitter waters as a test of a wife.
Revelation 17
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I
saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of
blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with
gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden CUP
FULL OF ABOMINATIONS AND THE FILTHINESS OF HER FORNICATION.
The cup in this woman's hand is the cup of curses that she must drink, it is the cup of jealousy. If a woman is brought to the Cohen Gadol under suspicion of adultery then a barley offering has to be made with no oil or frankensence
Num 5:12-18
12 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'If any man's
wife goes astray and behaves unfaithfully toward him,
13 'and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes
of her husband, and it is concealed that she has defiled herself,
and there was no witness against her, nor was she caught--
14 'if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous
of his wife, who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy
comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, although
she has not defiled herself--
15 'then the man shall bring his wife to the Cohen. He shall bring
the offering required for her, one-tenth of an EPHAH of barley
meal; he shall pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on
it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, an offering
for remembering, for bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 'And the Cohen shall bring her near, and set her before HaShem.
17 'The Cohen shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and take
some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it
into the water.
18 'Then the Cohen shall stand the woman before HaShem, uncover
the woman's head, and put the offering for remembering in her
hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And the Cohen
shall have in his hand the BITTER WATER THAT BRINGS A CURSE.
The Cohen Gadol takes a book and writes her sin and the curses in a book and he takes the water and pours it over what was written so the curses in the book fall into the cup and dust from the temple is in the cup to make it bitter, and if she is guilty her thigh rots and her stomach swells as a witness against her.
Num 5:19-29
19 'And the Cohen shall put her under oath, and say to the woman,
"If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to
uncleanness while under your husband's authority, be free
from this bitter water that brings a curse.
20 "But if you have gone astray while under your husband's
authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other
than your husband has lain with you"--
21 'then the Cohen shall put the woman under the oath of the
curse, and he shall say to the woman--" HaShem make you a curse and an
oath among your people, when HaShem makes your thigh rot and
your belly swell;
22 "and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach,
and make your belly swell and your thigh rot." Then the woman
shall say, "Amen, so be it."
23 'Then the Cohen shall WRITE THESE CURSES IN A BOOK, and he
shall scrape them off INTO THE BITTER WATER.
24 'And he shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings
a curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter her to
become bitter.
25 'Then the Cohen shall take the grain offering of jealousy from
the woman's hand, shall wave the offering before HaShem, and
bring it to the altar;
26 'and the Cohen shall take a handful of the offering, as its
memorial portion, burn it on the altar, and afterward make the
woman drink the water.
27 'When he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if
she has defiled herself and behaved unfaithfully toward her
husband, that the water that brings a curse will enter her
and become bitter, and her belly will swell, her thigh will
rot, and the woman will become a curse among her people.
28 'But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then
she shall be free and may conceive children.
29 'This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, while under her
husband's authority, goes astray and defiles herself,
Thus, the woman who is defiled after committing adultery by the worshipping of other Gods has to drink the bitter waters and she drinks the curses and her thigh will rot and her stomach will explode.
Rev 8:10-11
10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven,
burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the
springs of water.
11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became
wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was
made BITTER.
Rev 16:4-6
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the RIVERS AND SPRINGS
OF WATER, and THEY BECAME BLOOD.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O
L-rd, the One who is and who was and who is to be, because You have
judged these things.
6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have
given them blood to drink. For it is their just due."
Rev 17:3-6
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I
saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of
blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with
gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden CUP
FULL OF ABOMINATIONS AND THE FILTHINESS OF HER FORNICATION.
5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE
EARTH.
6 I saw the woman, DRUNK WITH THE BLOOD OF THE SAINTS AND WITH
THE BLOOD OF MARTYRS of Jesus
This cup that Babylon the Great was holding was the cup full of the
sins that she was guilty of committing.
Rev 14:9-10
9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If
anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark
on his forehead or on his hand,
10 "he himself shall also DRINK THE WINE OF THE WRATH OF GOD, which
is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He
shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of
the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
Matt 20:22
22 But Yeshua answered and said, "You do not know what you ask. Are
you able to drink the CUP that I am about to drink, and be baptized
with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to Him, "We are
able."
Matt 26:42
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My
Father, if this CUP cannot pass away from Me unless I DRINK it, Your
will be done."
Mark 14:36
36 And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take
this CUP away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You
will."
John 18:11
11 Then Yeshua said to Peter, "Put your sword into the sheath. Shall
I not DRINK the CUP which My Father has given Me?"
There are still very many others scriptures that speak of the testing of a woman by drinking the cup that the high priest has given as a test.
Jesus had to drink this cup himself, a woman is tested and proven by this cup of jealousy and it will testify against all men.
