What is your take on using common areas when the weather is nice in an apartment complex? My balcony doesn't face or get the sun at all. I enjoy being outside, but feel so odd because I no one else sits outside. Is it weird to use a beach chair and read? Where is the appropriate location if there is no pool or if people do not clean up after their dog on every occasion? Thanks for any clarity you can share.

As far as sitting outside enjoying the weather in a common area I would have no problem with that as long as it was safe. Most other people in an apartment might find sitting by the pool is more enjoyable however it’s not always what others might want to do. It tends to be noisy at times.

Common areas should always be cleaned, if people are not cleaning up after their dog I would talk with the apt. manager and see what they can do. It’s their responsibility to manage the apartment complex and they need to observe what is going on and take corrective actions.

If I were you, I would not care what others think and just take my beach chair, find a nice place to sit and read. You might be surprised to see that others will join you. Someone has to be the first

About the dogs poop - I would alert the apartment management. People should know better, but sometimes they need to be told.

Thanks for the quick reply. I take a chair and sit in the parking lot where there is open space and its safe. It just feels really odd, but I don't where else to go.

Gotcha. Thanks. Seems like a call to the management is in order.

Who knows someone else might see you and join you for company. You’re not the only one who likes the outside. Just don’t park your chair in a no parking zone. lol

Sound like a tail gate party would be nice.

This is a little odd that the apartment complex does not have a little outdoor area for tenants to enjoy the sunlit green space.

There are some nice areas and definitely places to hang out (basketball court and gazebo).

The grassed land behind my place is the "dog walk" and there are not any other open areas immediate to my location.

It seems like it would be odd going to the b-ball court because the apartments in that area have their porches/balconies facing the court...it would be like sitting out on their porch/balcony. I really wish there were more options.
