Welp, the thread title is self explanatory. I live on one side of a side by side duplex. On the other side is a college-age couple (was rented to a single female, but she moved in her boyfriend, but that's another story). Recently, they've started smoking pot. I don't like the smell - it makes me a little queasy, actually.
Should I tell the landlord? Call the cops (I'm sure they have better things to do). We've had a few minor issues before, and they can be a bit obnoxious, so I don't know if I feel like discussing it with them face to face.
1 call the cops and then call the landlord and tell him to come and meet the cops
2. call the fire department and tell them you smell a burning smell coming from the wall then call landlord and tell them you called the fire department. Then play dumb
3 Ask them to stop then call landlord this should be 1
Well, if you live in either Washington or Colorado, it is legal to smoke pot.
The lease agreement is another issue, though, and they could very well be in violation of the lease if they're smoking inside - whether it's legal or not.
Me? Unless the smoke itself was bothering me, or unless it looked like they were dealing, with a lot of traffic in and out of the place, I'd just mind my own damn business.
I would call the landlord. The smell of that crap gives me nausea too, I hate it. If the landlord doesn't do anything, call the police. There's no reason YOU should suffer because of a couple of inconsiderate potheads.

I'll take the sweet smell of pot any day over the smell of tobacco.
