I see issues with this case, just trying to help a friend; the landlord does not have a business address and she does not provide her home address either, how can a tenant serve summon? Anybody had experience on this case in NC?

You can pay a process server.

Don't expect any sympathy from the courts. Seriously, you think you have a right to less than 75 degrees? 75 degrees is perfectly fine.

If he is avoiding summons from the Court, ask the Judge to allow to publish it at any local newspaper or being served by U.S. Mail. Do you have an attorney?, they know this.

Experience on this case? Suing my landlord for a fan because my AC only cools to 75 in the hot as hell summer of NC? No, I haven’t because I would sue my landlord over a working AC.

Want to help your friend? Tell him he’s a a fool for trying to pull this stunt or he’ll soon find himself homeless. Are you going to take him in when he has to move??

I’ll say it again, but louder: HIRE A PROCESS SERVER.. your friend’s lawyer should’ve already suggested this.

Tell your friend to start looking for a new apartment. He'll need it when it lease is over. Better hope he's not on a month month.
