My husband and I have visited various parts of Florida for a community to retire in (not necessarily age restricted) and of all the areas we looked at we like the "nature coast" the best. Particularly, we like the terrain, climate, more laid-back atmosphere and the fact that it is less congested/crowded.

Any retirees out there from Citrus/Hernando counties? How do you like the nature coast as a place to retire to? Any suggestions for communities for younger retirees to live in?

I have traveled throughout Florida searching for our retirement spot and I have to say the nature coast is gorgeous. I loved the rolling hills, natural beauty, and laid back life style. We spent three nights at Terra Vista and were greatly impressed. It was what most people want in a retirement community - golfing, pools, dining, etc. The downsides are you are about an hour and a half from a major airport and it isn't cheap. We didn't end up buying there, but it was definitely one of the most beautiful places we went - almost resort-like.

Terra Vista is located in Hernando, Florida in Citrus County, near Inverness.
It is on the West Coast near the Gulf of Mexico.
