After growing up in the Midwest with tornadoes, living in NY was a relief. No tornadoes and only really loud thunder in the mountains and occasional hurricane remnants. That started changing though with straight line winds and reported tornadoes in more recent years along with Sandy. Usual weather patterns seem to be an oxymoron.
Very strange weather here for almost the end of May! The weather forecaster said the dirty four letter S word - how in the world???!!!
It snowed in Flagstaff today. Been pretty chilly here today and don't think it got past 50 degrees. Saw on the news there was some kind of tornado northeast of Flagstaff too. Thankfully nothing but desert and flat land out there.
One of DH's life long friends lives in the High Desert of Southern California. He said it was only 40 degrees today.
We are in Middle Tennessee, currently in the low 90's and we will stay that way for at least a week --- which is above that word "normal"
The upshot to all this early heat is that the weather pattern it is providing is solidly blocking all of that awful weather further west. One of those storm cells that is over Missouri has been reported to have had two tornadoes at one point and they think it's been on the ground for around an hour.
Yessiree, I will shut my mouth about this early heat this time as it is serving a good purpose for once
