Sometimes another word for "sanctuary" is asylum.
I know that sometimes when I've had lots of my own critters and a batch in foster care I think I belong in an asylum.
Going on a "vacation" on Monday down to Tampa, Florida. My older brother lives there with his wife, and just became a grandfather for the first time. Hope he doesn't carry on about his grandkid for hours on end ... his Facebook posts has been nothing but pictures and posts about the baby for weeks and weeks. I'm actually going to stay in St. Pete beach, so I won't be too close to him. It's not that we don't get along, but that guy treats me like a little kid and can be very condescending at times.
Awwww, Clark, take what you get, he won't be around forever. It only hurts for a minute
So that means you're a great uncle, right? You get to be the cooooool uncle, stories of royalty on the high seas and things. and no three foot spools of baby pictures falling out of your wallet.
I have emptied FIVE totes full of DH's clothes. Whoever said 'out of sight, out of mind' was a genius. And he beotches about me having too much? At least I wear the danged stuff. This dtuff hasn't seen the light of day for at least ten years.
Did we really need a dozen Giants Super Bowl tee shirts? ANd worn out to boot.
I have eleven grocery hags full of clothes going to the church thrift. I am hiding them in my office so he won't seeit all.

Hope you're keeping lists of all this stuff and getting receipts?

Fascinating & moving voyage of discovery on multiple levels: Polish film "Ida"
What a great new Polish film is "Ida", set in Poland about 15 years after the end of World War II. I'm so glad I saw it without having read any reviews, as reviews so often give away too much, in my opinion. Therefore I'll not say any more about it.
